Coogee beach is located in Sydney, Australia. Coogee is not like what most of people think of Australia. When we say Australia we think, crocodiles and kangaroos and poisonous critters that can kill us. While these things can be found in Australia, Sydney is a city just like any other in the world. Great places to eat and lots of things to do. The name 'Coogee' comes from an old work meaning smelly place. It came to be known as this due to the large amounts of seaweed that wash up on shore. No worries! Nowadays, when large masses wash onto shore, they are cleared within a few hours to be sure that there is no smell. With highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s and the waters staying at a perfectly cool and refreshing 60 degrees, it is the perfect place to get some vitamin D and play in the surf and sand.
